THE VIKINGS COME TO TOWN!

Swansea College Vikings are coming to Taunton this Sunday to meet the Tigers for the second time this season. Our Under 18 boys have already tasted victory in the league beating the Vikings away 56 - 81. The same is expected from them in the second round of the Sureshot Cup. Swansea has one Viking measuring 6'10" and this might prove an inconvenience under the boards. Therefore, good shooting will be the order of the day for our boys. They will also have to sharpen up their passing. Presently, the opPOSITION in the Western Conference has proved rather mediocre and the effect has been felt in our Tigers dropping their own excellent standard. We will need to make sure that complacency does not prevent the team performing at it's best so that we can look forward to playing in the premiership next season.

TIGERS VS DORSET STORM - 19/11/05

TIGERS U18 SQUAD NEWS

Just a brief report on the season so far. The squad is not the biggest with only 12 players signed on to play. Simon Farrar has already picked up a knock which is keeping him from playing. The squad has jelled really well, one under eighteen, nine under seventeens and two under sixteen players, a really young squad as well. The success this season is the pre-match treats supplied by russell martin. A big thanks to Russell's mum, your brownies are a huge hit with the team.

TIGERS VS BRISTOL ACADEMY - 15/10/05

It was a very, very, very one sided contest this Saturday between Taunton Tigers and Bristol Academy. Only seven of their players came and what came was quickly dismissed by our boys. By the end of the first quarter the score was 24 - 4. Needless to say, this one sided affair is again a confirmation that our boys should be playing in the Premiership and not the conference. Although the final outcome was never in doubt, the Tigers gave far too many turnovers. Their shooting was also not too impressive on the day. Good offensive rebounding and aggressive traps allowed them to make the difference. Final Score 114-36.
