Taunton Tigers and Coventry Crusaders fought an incredible battle in the knowledge that the winners would be projected into the National Division 1 Championship Play-offs and the losers would effectively end their season. TIGERS MEN VS SHEFFIELD ARROWS - 16/02/08

An early 3 point score form Captain Joe Andrews gave false hope of a high scoring game as defensive intensity was to become the dominant factor in the game. Sheffield had made losses and gains in the January transfer window most notably seeing Rankine from the Arrrows and Hastings from rivals Manchester Magic swapping teams. The result for now at least seems to have produced a more coherent and aggressive Arrows outfit who frustrated Taunton for long spells.

TIGERS MEN VS COVENTRY CRUSADERS - 19/01/08

The Tigers success journey moved to the next station last weekend with a 77-74 away win against Coventry Crusaders that meant that Taunton leapfrogged the Midlanders to go take the all-important 8th spot in England's National Division 1. The game had only just finished when Head Coach Ronnie Heath was asking the players now to accept the goal of finishing in the play-off spots. The previous target was simply to survive in the top-flight, avoid the drop back down, and perhaps look below at the other 65 teams (Div 2, 3 and 4) and enjoy the status.

TIGERS MEN MID SEASON REVIEW - 07/01/08

Despite largely meeting our targets for 2007 there is a tangible feel of determination to do better within the Tigers Camp. Whilst the constant plea for patience can be heard amongst supporters, players and staff, the thirst for winning and success remains ever present. We all knew the size of the challenge of playing in the top-flight with team of local players with full amateur status and we also knew that there would be some heavy losses adjusting. For a team that had experienced the equivalent of 3 successive promotions and a treasured winning record, the reality of regularly losing games was always going to be painful one.

TIGERS MEN VS BRISTOL FLYERS - 08/12/07

Taunton Tigers injury problems continue having returned battered and bruised after a mauling by National Division 1 rivals Bristol Academy Flyers last weekend. After a promising start when Tigers flew away to a 5 point lead in the first two minutes, things rapidly deteriorated. The confidence that has been developing in recent weeks seemed to desert them in an arena that bore more resemblance to the 'Grand Garden' in Las Vegas last Sunday morning, than that of English Basketball in the top division.
