PLAY-OFF SEMI FINAL - 25/03/06
A successful season came to a close on Saturday for the Men's team when they were knocked out of the National League Division 3 Play-Offs by the Sheffield Sabres. Supporters joined the team travelling to sheffield by coach to witness what was to be a very competitive game from start to finish. Unfortunately things just didn't go to plan for the Tigers and despite the score being tied at half time Tigers couldn't do enough in the second half to secure the win. The team will take some time off in order to rest and recoup before beginning preparation for the 06/07 season in the summer. It has been a great season for the team and the support we have had has been fantastic. Thank you to all the Player's, Coaching Staff, Events Organisers, Supporters and everyone who has helped to make this such an exciting, fun and memorable season.

TIGERS VS BRISTOL ACADEMY - 11/02/06
Another loss for the Men's team this weekend and this time it was against Bristol Academy in a game that could only be decided after two over-times. Last time the Men's team played Bristol, a close game resulted in an over-time victory for the Tigers, so the team knew that it was going to be a tough match. Tigers had a great start but sloppy play towards the end of the first and during the second quarter allowed Bristol to draw almost level at the half. From then on neither team were able to establish a lead of more than a few points. With the clock ticking down at the end of the fourth quarter and with Bristol up three, rookie Jordan Seeley received the ball on the wing and buried a three pointer to send the game into over-time. Bristol pulled ahead in the first over-time but Tigers fought back to again bring the game within three. It was now Matt Nolan's turn for some heroics as he got his own rebound, jumped and shot the ball as he was falling out of bounds to score on the buzzer and force the game into a second OT. Again the young Bristol side showed how much they have improved this season by keeping their composure and making crucial outside shots and free throws when it mattered. Final score Tigers 97 - 101 Bristol Academy. It was a frustrating and disappointing loss for the team and they will seek to redeem themselves next week against Gloucestershire Giants back at Wellsprings. It was great to see how many fans travelled up to watch the team play Bristol and the support they gave was fantastic. From all the players a big thank you.

TIGERS VS EAST KENT CRUSADERS - 05/02/06
A disappointing loss for the Men's team on Sunday as they were knocked out of the National Sheild Competition to a strong East Kent team. Despite the loss it was a great game and the atmosphere in Wellspring's was the best yet with a capacity crowd in attendance. The team played hard and the fans were fantastic but in the end it wasn't enough and the Crusaders finished worthy victors.

TIGERS VS UWIC - 28/01/06
The Tigers Men's team travelled up to Cardiff for an early 12:30 only to find halfway warming up that UWIC would be forced to forfeit the game due to the venue not meeting EBBA requirements. The officials decided that the court would not be suitable which meant Tigers were awarded a 20 - 0 victory. Having made the journey the team decided that they would go ahead and play the game anyway and just use it as practice. Unfortunately in the dieing minutes of the game Dave Bullock sustained a serious ankle injury which will rule him out of next weekend's double header.

TIGERS VS CARDIFF CLIPPERS - 14/01/06
The mens team had to battle hard against Cardiff Clippers this Saturday in order to pull off the win. A seemingly never ending supply of three pointers rained down on Tigers from the Clippers players but despite that the game was close and Tigers held the lead the majority of the time. Thankfully halfway through the forth quarter Cardiff seemed to run out of steam and Graham Jones, Richard Anderson, Dave Bullock and Paul Yabsley were able to dominate inside. Joe Andrews had another great performance and received MVP of the match honours, keeping it close in the first half by getting to the basket at will. It was an important win and Tigers closed out the game extremely well, showing yet again that they can handle it when it gets tough.

TIGERS VS GLOUCESTERSHIRE GIANTS - 04/12/05
Thanks to the support of our fans coupled with the Christmas Camp players, Tigers Men got back to their winning ways this Sunday in convincing style. The team took out the frustrations of last week’s disappointing loss to Filton on the Gloucestershire team at Wellsprings. Some sharp play early on left no doubt as to who was going to win this game and it was almost over before it began. To Gloucestershire's credit they never gave up and continued to play hard for the entire game. It is their first year playing National league and I'm sure with some hard work and determination will be a team to look out for in the future.

TIGERS VS GLOUCESTERSHIRE GIANT'S - 19/11/05
Taunton Tigers Men Vs Gloucestershire Giants - National League Division 3. The Men's team travelled up to Cheltenham in the mist on Saturday to take on Gloucestershire Giants at their home venue and to carry on their unbeaten rampage through the league. After spending the first half getting used to the referees Tigers opened up a convincing lead heading in to the 3rd quarter and never looked back. All the supporters that travelled up were absolutely fantastic and the whole team were extremely grateful. It is testament to what great supporters we have when our fans outnumber the opPOSITION's when we play away from home. Thank you and keep it up. The Men's team will face their toughest opPOSITION this coming weekend (Saturday 26th November) in Filton Flyers who, like Tigers, are currently unbeaten in the league. They will need the help of all our supporters if we are going to remain unbeaten so make sure you get down to Wellsprings and make Filton feel uncomfortable.

TIGERS VS BRISTOL ACADEMY - 12/11/05
The Tigers men’s team matched up against a young and talented Bristol Academy side for the second time this year on Saturday, in what proved to be one of the most exciting games of the season so far. The game was closely fought all the way through but thanks to some great shooting from Joe Andrews and solid play from senior players Dave Bullock, Richard Anderson and Graham Jones, Tigers were able to stay close and not let Bristol establish a convincing lead. With the seconds counting down at the end of the forth quarter Bristol's Greg Streete knocked down 3 clutch freethrows to even the score and send the game into overtime. In overtime tigers used their experience to finally take control of the game and hold on for the win. Not the most convincing performance from the men’s team but they walk away still undefeated in the league. The next home game is Saturday 26th November at Wellsprings Leisure Centre Vs Filton Flyers who, like Tigers are undefeated so far this season and currently top of the league. It’s guaranteed to be another nail biter so make sure you get down to Wellsprings to cheers the guys on. It was once again great to see so many people at the game and the atmosphere was fantastic. Thanks and we look forward to seeing you all at our next home game.
