WELCOME
Hello, the 2007/2008 season is now officially over for all our teams and everyone is taking a well earned rest after what has been a challenging but successful year for the club. Thanks to all the volunteer support we received and all the fans that came to watch, you all helped to make it another great year for the Tigers. We would like to invite you all to our End of Season Celebration Evening on the 10th May at the Somerset County Cricket Club. There are more details on our forum but if you would like to reserve tickets you need to send an email to our wonderful Secretary Veronica (vfairbairn[at]somerset.gov.uk - replacing the [at] with an @, this is to avoid spam). It promises to be a great night with hot food, drinks, presentations for all teams and Live music. See you there!

TIGERS MEN VS DERBY TRAILBLAZERS - 29/03/08

Taunton Tigers took a blow to their confidence ahead of the Men’s Division 1 Play-off quarter-finals with a heavy 82-56 loss away to Derby Trailblazers in their last league game of the season. Tigers buoyant after last weeks win against Coventry to secure 8th spot were unable to generate the same energy levels against the Trailblazers who were desperate for the win to secure 6th spot going into the post-season match-ups.

TIGERS MEN VS CONVENTRY CRUSADERS - 22/03/08

Taunton Tigers and Coventry Crusaders fought an incredible battle in the knowledge that the winners would be projected into the National Division 1 Championship Play-offs and the losers would effectively end their season. The importance of the game was reflected in the season’s best crowd of 429 at Wellsprings, the second highest home attendance in Tigers’ history. If they were expecting a hard-fought nail biter they were not disappointed.

TIGERS MEN VS READING AND LONDON - 8TH AND 9TH MARCH 2008

It was a difficult weekend for Taunton Tigers ahead of the run-in to the play-off places of National Division 1. A road trip against 2nd place Reading Rockets and 4th place London Leopards was always going to be full of challenges and Taunton struggled for big periods.

TIGERS U16 MEN VS ABINGDON EAGLES - 24/02/08

This week Taunton Tigers U16's travelled to Abingdon for a match which could ultimately determine who would win the league. Tigers have only been defeated once this season whereas the Eagles have lost twice with one of those games being to the Tigers, who on that occasion won by 15 points. This meant that the Eagles would have to win by 16 or more to go ahead of Taunton in the league.

TIGERS WOMEN VS SOLENT SUNS II - 17/02/08

The away trip to Solent was an important game for both sides as both had chances of play-off contention beckoning, with Solent particularly well placed as 2nd in the league. The 2 previous encounters had resulted in very competitive games, with Solent taking the spoils in each game. Given the Tigers excellent win of the previous week, it was disappointing to travel with only 8 players, due to holiday commitments.
